| About Douglas Ranch |
If you have a group of 6 or more riders, we will escort you on a scenic and exciting ride through some of the wild mountains surrounding the Panoche Valley. You may chose to take a leisurely trail ride or a more challenging ride into some of the more remote areas. These rides are a great opportunity to teach horsemanship skills that are valuable to having a well trained and responsive horse. There is a sense of adventure by getting out of the arena environment and putting some miles between you and civilization. Bring your cameras to capture some fantastic panoramas and perhaps a perfect sunset. Panoche Valley and the surrounding mountains are home to diverse wildlife species, some of which are currently on the Endangered list. Watch for kit foxes, giant kangaroo rats, burrowing owls, coyotes, hawks and eagles. Bird watchers come to this area of San Benito county to get a glimpse of many rare migrating birds. One of the popular destinations is Mercey Hot Springs which is a half day trip through the mountains with the hot tub and swimming pool awaiting at the end of the trail. We help with transporting gear and horses. A typical Saturday and Sunday is $325.00 per person. |
